Description: A flowering hedge of Olearia macrodonta in the North West Highlands of Scotland where it is frequently planted for shelter in gardens. There it is known colloquially as 'New Zealand holly' for its origin and for the prickly edged leaf’s similarity to Ilex aquifolium or as 'sea holly' because of its tolerance of salt laden winds..
