Description: WPA Camp, Larch Mountain Road, Mount Hood National Forest "Timberline Lodge is six thousand feet up on the south slope of Mount Hood. According to WPA records, its building costs totaled $695,730 in 1936–38; 20 percent of the cost was for materials and the remainder for labor, 90 percent of which was from the WPA (the workers lived nearby in a tent city). Building trade laborers received the top rate of ninety cents per hour, and unskilled laborers fifty-five cents per hour." — Roger G. Kennedy, When Art Worked (2009), page 338
