See http://www.downanddromore.org/bangor/ Very distinctive bells - "For over a century the bells of Bangor Parish Church have rung out over the town. The peal of bells in St Comgall's Parish Bangor, were supplied by Taylor & Co of Loughborough and were the gift of Mr Robert Atkinson. They were dedicated and first rung on the 23rd September 1899. The tenor bells weighs 21 cwts 0 qrs 4 lbs and has a Latin inscription which, translated, says: "1899. In honour of God and of St Comgall, Robert Atkinson of Belmont, Belfast, and of The Fort, in this Parish, Esquire, gave me and my seven sister to this Church." The bells of Bangor Parish Church set in the centre of Bangor are an integral part of the town and have always been ecumenical, rung to celebrate not only Parish and national events but those of the town as well. They were rung on 2 February 1938 to celebrate the Moderatorship of a local Presbyterian Minister and four days later on the 6th rang a muffled peal to mark the death of the Primate of Ireland."
