Description: Tacking Point Lighthouse, Port Macquarie, NSW. Tacking Point was named by Matthew Flinders in July 1802. The lighthouse is the third-oldest in the country. It was built in 1879 to warn ships of the rocks near the shore and was converted to automatic operation in 1919.
