Description: Exhibit at the Seashore Trolley Museum at Kennebunkport, Maine, USA. Car 108 of the Portsmouth, Dover & York Street Railway, which operated in both Maine and New Hampshire, was built in 1904 by the Laconia Car Company, of Laconia, New Hampshire. It was built as a railway post office and freight express car, and carried mail until 1918. From 1918 until 1947, it was used as a freight express car or for overhead-line maintenance. Car 108 is one of 10 rail cars at the museum that are listed, collectively (as "Maine Trolley Cars"), on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
