Description: View of the President's House, Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Virginia. The house was begun in 1868 as a residence for General Robert E. Lee and was designed by C. W. Oltmanns. The photograph is from the Carol M. Highsmith Collection, Prints and Photographs Division, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. The Highsmith collection was donated to the U.S. government and there are no known restrictions on publication.[1]
