Description: The early 1970s and The dear old Sealink Ferry "INVICTA" is coming to the end of her life. Captured here at Newhaven shortly before decommissioning and scrapping. "SS INVICTA" was a train ferry built in 1939 for the Southern Railway. Requisitioned on completion in 1940 by the Admiralty. Converted to a Landing Ship, Infantry and renamed HMS Invicta. To Southern Railway in 1945 and acquired by British Railways in 1948. Served until 1972 when scrapped at Brugge, Belgium.
