Description: A small hillside in the southern part of the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, located about ½ mile north of County Road E475S in Jackson Township, Jackson County, Indiana, United States. Atop the hill is a substantial archaeological site, the Sand Hill Archaeological Site. Used as a campsite during the end of the Archaic period into the early Woodland period, the hill overlooks a marshy area used by numerous nesting birds. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
