Description: Shrewsbury Abbey Taken from the Abbey Foregate carpark. I believe that the broken stonework on the south side is the result of the efforts of Thomas Telford, who took it upon himself to 'remove' a section of the abbey in order to make it easier to build the road. Wouldn't be allowed these days, you'd like to think.
