Description: Sooty Falcon, Allée des Baobabs near Morondava, Madagascar A sustantial proportion of the global population of this falcon species winters in Madagascar. In January 2010, on my way to and from Kirindy, I spotted several dozens of these birds foraging around the huge Adansonia trees in the famous "Allée des Baobabs".
