Description: St Augustine's Episcopal Church The church (Scottish Episcopal) was built in 1871-73 (the architect was Sir Robert Rowand Anderson). It formerly had a parsonage on the north, and a linking hall that was added in 1907; however, these additions, both by A C Denny, have now been demolished. [Information from a leaflet, "Dumbarton Heritage Trail", in the "West Dunbartonshire Heritage" series.] [Note: In this photograph, there is visible damage to the gable end wall of the building standing to the left of the church. About two weeks before the picture was taken, part of that sandstone wall collapsed. There were no injuries, but the families occupying the building were evacuated until it could be made safe; in addition, the section of road in front of the church was temporarily closed.]
