Description: The church dates from the 12th century onwards and was restored in 1850. It is built of ashlar with slate and lead roofs. There is a west tower with a spire, clerestoried nave, chancel, aisles and south porch. The three stage tower has clasping buttresses with a plain parapet and spire with a single tier of lucarnes. The nave has an embattled parapet with gargoyles, and clerestory with 15th century windows. The chancel was built in 1849 with 14th century style windows. The south porch is 19th-century but the inner doorway is late 12th century. The nave has a four bay arcade from the 14th century,and there is a tall 15th century chancel arch. The font is a late 12th century round tub with a 20th century carved wooden lid. There is a monument to George Bass discoverer of the Bass Strait, who was baptised in the church in 1771. There are several other monuments in the church, and three funeral hatchments to members of the Whichcote family.
