Description: Engraving of the Vernor family rescued during the February flood near Fernvale, 1893. The script under the engraving describes the members of the Vernor family stranded in trees in the Upper Brisbane River when their punt capsized during the floods. After a long night in the trees the family of eight was rescued and brought ashore exhausted and hungry.
