Description: Home of the Good Shepherd, Mitchelton, Brisbane, 1931. The Good Shepherd Institution had been established by the nuns of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd. It's focus is for the reformation of girls and the care of poor, neglected children. The home stands on a commanding hill in an area of 87 acres. An extensive laundry will provide occupation for the inmantes. The building was dedicated by Archbishop Duhig on Sunday last. (Description supplied with photograph.). The building and site is now used as a co-educational high school, Mt. Maria, run by Brisbane Catholic Education.
