Description: Stirling Bridge and the Forth River. The Scots, led by William Wallace and Andrew Moray, defeated the English in the Battle of Stirling Bridge, in 1297. This bridge was built later, perhaps in the 15th century. The old bridge and the battle may have been upstream from here, which would be to the left of the photo. The Wallace Monument is in the background. It is a tower on a high hill.
