Description: Telica volcano, seen here from the León-Chinandega highway, is one of a group of interlocking cones and vents along a NW trend. The summit of Telica, which is one of Nicaragua's most active volcanoes, is unvegetated, and deep erosional gulleys have been dissected into the lower flanks of the cone. Frequent historical eruptions have been recorded at Telica since the 16th century.
