Description: This bridge, better known as the Ash Avenue Bridge, was the first major highway bridge across the Salt River. It was constructed from 1911 to 1913, and it was replaced in 1931 by the 1931 Tempe Bridge. It was a pedestrian walkway until its demolition in 1991, but the National Register of Historic Places still considers it a structure, having not amended the listing since its original placement in 1984.
