Description: The British Army in the United Kingdom 1939-45 6-inch howitzers of 79th (The Scottish Horse) Medium Regiment, Royal Artillery, in action during a practise shoot near Huntly in Banffshire, 28 May 1941. It was a standard ritual for the ramrod to be hurled back to the gun 'Number One', to get it out of the way during firing.
