Description: A medieval processional figure dating from the 15th century. Also called St Christopher he belonged to the Tailors Guild in Salisbury and was bought by Salisbury Museum in 1873 for 30 shillings (£1.50). He is accompanied by an odd looking creature called Hobnob who cavorted about during processions clearing a path for The Giant. 12 feet tall with a leather baldric over his shoulder decorated with the arms of the Tailors Guild his wooden frame was rebuilt in the mid-19th century. The figure is in the Salisbury Museum from where he is unlikely to be processing in the forseeable future.
