Description: The Old Fort, built in 1657, razed in 1831, which stood on the site of The Fort Restaurant today. Built by J. Pynchon, Esq. it was the only brick building in the settlement of Springfield, Massachusetts in its earliest days and saved many from the Siege of Springfield.
