Description: The ship Providencia was en route from w:Havana, Cuba, to w:Cádiz, Spain, with a cargo of coconuts. The ship wrecked about where w:Mar-a-Lago is. The coconuts were salvaged; as there were many more than could be eaten by the few residents, many were planted. From this incident came Florida's palm trees (not native anywhere in the U.S.), and the name of w:Palm Beach, Florida.
