Description: High School for Arts Education in the former Western High School. Duke Ellington was a native of Washington. It currently operates in conjunction with the D.C. Public Schools, the Kennedy Center, and George Washington University. Here is a front view of the school which is being complete renovated. The rear portion has been demolished but the front portion is to be retained; the name can be seen carved into the pediment above the columns. This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 03000673.
