Description: Wembley: IKEA home furnishings store Ever wondered where the name IKEA came from? Well, it's the initials of the Swedish founder, Ingvar Kamprad, plus the initial letter of the farm where he lived, Elmtaryd, plus the initial letter of the village that Elmtaryd was in, Agunnaryd. Another utterly useless fact is that the company sold, amongst other things, nylon stockings, before it started selling furniture. This store, more formally known as London (Brent Park), was the second one to be opened in the UK, in 1988, with a floor area of about 31,000 square metres. The view was taken from the rooftop car park with the access ramp visible in the foreground. The Wembley Stadium arch is visible in the distance left.
