Description: Memorial brass of Sir William Catesby (1450-1485) at Ashby St Ledgers, Northamptonshire. He was one of King Richard III's principal councillors. He also served as Chancellor of the Exchequer and Speaker of the House of Commons. On his tabard he displays quarterly of four (repeated on breast and on both arms): 1: Catesby 2: Montfort, lord of Beldesert & of Lapworth (a Catesby heiress) 3: Brandeston of Brandeston, Leics & of Lapworth (a Mountford heiress) 4: Cranford of Ashby St Ledgers (a Catesby heiress) (Source: Heraldic Visitation of Warwickshire, pp.124-131 (Fetherston, J., ed.
