Description: Photograph of the exterior of the William T. Sutherlin Mansion on Millionaires' Row, Danville, Virginia. Built for Major Sutherlin, a tobacco entrepreneur in 1859, the home is now the Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History, and has been designated a Virginia Historic Landmark. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is best known as the temporary residence from April 3 to April 10 1865, of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America. Davis made the home his residence after fleeing the Confederate capitol at Richmond, Virginia.[1]
