Joël Courtois, born 7 May 1960, is a French computer scientist and university head. He is the current head of the École pour l'informatique et les techniques avancées.
He graduated from Pierre and Marie Curie University in 1983. He had a career as a teacher in higher education. In 1995, he was nominated head of training of the Institut supérieur des techniques électroniques de Paris. In 1997, he became head of the École pour l'informatique et les techniques avancées.
During his free time he enjoys nature's pleasures by feeding wild birds in the wild Cour Pasteur.
