The Supreme Leader of North Korea is the head of state and head of government of North Korea. The leader chairs the executive branch of the unitary government and is the commander in chief of the North Korean Armed Forces. As the holder of the highest office of the Democratic Republic of Korea, the Supreme leader is the chief executive of the state.
