MTV (music television) is an American cable television network. They are based in New York City. The channel launched on August 1, 1981. They used to only show music videos. The first music video shown on MTV was Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles. Today, the channel shows many different television programs aimed at adolescents and young adults.
