The Muiderslot

The Muiderslot is a castle in the Netherlands in Muiden. It is 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) southeast of Amsterdam. It is one of the better known castles in the Netherlands. The Muiderslot is part of the defense line of Amsterdam. It is on the World Heritage list.

History

The castle was built in 1280 by Floris V. Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft used to live there.
