The North Region of Brazil is one of the five political subdivisions of Brazil. This region is formed of seven states: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins. It the last region to be given importance by the Brazilian government, when it was already independent from Portugal.

The North Region corresponds to 45.27% of the national territory, the most big of all Brazilian regions. But this is the region with less population: with only 2,92 inhabitants per km2.
