Offering facts for kids

Offering can mean any of the following:

• An offering is a donation during religious worship. See also alms, tithe, charity, gift and virtue.

• An offering can mean a religious sacrifice of plant, animal or human life, or a sacrifice of precious things. An offering may also be in money, or may be of a purely spiritual nature, like offering one's heart or life to God (see also Oblation).

• An offering, in Buddhism, is a form of prayer.
