Orient is a town in Faulk County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 51 at the 2020 census.

Orient got its start in 1887 when the Milwaukee Railroad was extended into the area.

Orient is located at 44°54′7″N 99°5′19″W / 44.90194°N 99.08861°W / 44.90194; -99.08861 (44.901922, -99.088595).

As of the census of 2010, there were 63 people, 30 households, and 16 families residing in the town. The population density was 217.2 inhabitants per square mile (83.9/km2). There were 38 housing units at an average density of 131.0 per square mile (50.6/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 100.0% White.

There were 30 households, of which 23.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% were married couples living together, 3.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 46.7% were non-families. 46.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 20% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
