Simcoe County is part of Central Ontario, Canada. It is north of the Greater Toronto Area, between Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay. It is part of the Golden Horseshoe area. The county covers 4,690.24 square kilometres (1,810.91 square miles). In 2011, it had a population of 277,614. It was named by John Graves Simcoe, the first Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada, for his father John Simcoe.

Agriculture and manufacturing are a big part of Simcoe County's economy. Honda Canada is one of the county's biggest employers.

The County has sixteen municipalities:

  • Town of Midland
  • Town of New Tecumseth
  • Town of Penetanguishene
  • Town of Wusaga Beach
  • Township of Adjala-Tosorontio
  • Township of Clearview
  • Township of Essa
  • Township of Oro-Medonte
  • Township of Ramara
  • Township of Severn
  • Township of Springivater
  • Township of Tay
  • Township of Tiny, Ontario

The cities of Barrie and Orillia are both in Simcoe County but they are politically independent of the county.
