Star Trek: First Contact is the eighth movie set in the Star Trek universe. It was made in 1996 by Paramount Pictures. The Borg travel back in time to destroy Phoenix, the Earth's first warp ship. Captain Picard and his crew must follow them to save the Earth.

The new Sovereign-class Enterprise-E was designed to be sleeker than its predecessor. The ship was the last element added to the above scene; the computer-generated nebula background was built first, with the starship composited in later.
