Washburn is an unincorporated community in Armstrong County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 120 in 2000. Washburn is part of the Amarillo Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Education
A combination school/church building was built at Washburn in 1889. A community center was built in Washburn to modernize school campuses, improve education, and sponsor cultural events around 1920. Today, the community is served by the Claude Independent School District.
