Weldon is a town in Halifax County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,655 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina Micropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Grace Episcopal Church and the Weldon Historic District are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Geography
Weldon is located at 36°25′36″N 77°36′6″W / 36.42667°N 77.60167°W (36.426567, -77.601597).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.7 km2), all of it land. Located on the Roanoake River, Weldon is known as the "Rockfish Capital of the World" due to abundant fishing during the May spawning season.
