West Rockhampton is a suburb of Rockhampton in the Rockhampton Region, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census, West Rockhampton had a population of 1,825 people.

History

Two schools were established in the area. Crescent Lagoon, the local primary school, was established around 1896, and was moved to its current location in 1932.

In the 2006 census, West Rockhampton had a population of 1,457.

Education

Crescent Lagoon State School is a government primary (Prep-6) school for boys and girls at North Street Extended (23°22′57″S 150°29′18″E / 23.3825°S 150.4884°E / -23.3825; 150.4884 (Crescent Lagoon State School)). In 2018, the school had an enrolment of 389 students with 29 teachers (28 full-time equivalent) and 17 non-teaching staff (12 full-time equivalent). It includes a special education program.
