Westport is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Lincoln County, North Carolina, United States. The population of the CDP was 4,026 at the 2010 census, up from 2,006 at the 2000 census. The community's name comes from its location on the west side of Lake Norman.

Geography

Westport is located in Westport Cove on Lake Norman in eastern Lincoln County. It is located at 35°30′33″N 80°58′45″W / 35.50917°N 80.97917°W / 35.50917; -80.97917, approximately 20 miles from Charlotte.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.0 square miles (13 km2), of which, 3.1 square miles (8.0 km2) of it is land and 1.9 square miles (4.9 km2) of it (38.60%) is water.
