"New Witten" is the name used by the United States Census Bureau to describe this town. However, the United States Post Office maintains an associate office in the town, and uses the name "Witten".

As of the census of 2010, there were 79 people, 35 households, and 22 families residing in the town. The population density was 282.1 inhabitants per square mile (108.9/km2). There were 51 housing units at an average density of 182.1 per square mile (70.3/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.5% White and 2.5% from two or more races.
There were 35 households, of which 22.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.4% were married couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 37.1% were non-families. 37.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
