Description: Aka Rodwell Tower. By Douglas Stephen & Partners, 1963-66. In common with many of Manchester's 1960s towers, it has recently been refurbished, and in common with a lot of those towers, the refurbishment has involved concealing concrete (and most of them have been for Bruntwood, ubiquitous local property developers). Even so, it's a slick job, the forceful verticals and horizontal bands combining to form a satisfying composition. The lower section to the left straddles the Rochdale Canal.
